Wake Up Call: Chadbourne Closes in Beijing, Exits Asia

The following is a list of the top developments in the legal industry:

Chadbourne & Parke closed its Beijing office , 15 years after it opened, leaving the firm with no physical presence in Asia. In the 1990s, the firm had offices in Singapore and Hong Kong but both were closed following the 1997 Asia financial crisis. In departing China, it follows Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson which closed its Hong Kong and Shanghai offices in January, and Vinson & Elkins which closed its Shanghai office in 2013.
