In today’s column, Wells Fargo agreed to pay $3 billion to settle U.S. probes into its various scandals; several big firms advised on a Japanese manufacturer’s acquisition of a South Carolina electronic component maker; a Baltimore firm hired several ex-LeClairRyan lawyers for its own Richmond, Virginia office.

  • Leading off, a consortium of 17 law firms led by Winston & Strawn and also including five corporate law departments, alternative legal service providers, and others, is working to design metric tools to modernize how legal teams set up and use client evaluations. (Legaltech News)
