Wake Up Call: Fiat Chrysler Yanks Offer to Merge With Renault

  • Fiat Chrysler Automobiles abruptly withdrew its offer to merge with Renault SA, blaming the French government, Renault’s biggest shareholder, for dragging its feet as it sought a green light from alliance partners Japan and Nissan. Previous reports said Sullivan & Cromwell, among others, was advising Fiat while a Paris-based Skadden Arps team was representing Renault.
