Wake Up Call: Founder of Mayer Brown Supreme Court Practice Shot Dead

• Stephen Shapiro, the founder of Mayer Brown‘s U.S. Supreme Court and appellate practice, was shot dead at his home in a Chicago suburb Monday night, according to reports. Police said a suspect is in custody but have not yet released details. ( American Lawyer ) Shapiro left Mayer Brown in 1978 to work in the solicitor general’s office and returned in 1983.
