• Latham & Watkins has ceded its spot as the world’s largest law firm by gross revenue, according to a report. That title now belongs to Kirkland & Ellis, whose revenues expanded 19 percent last year, to $3.165 billion, about $100 million more than Latham took in on 8.5 percent growth. Kirkland’s profits per equity partner rose about 15 percent in 2017, to $4.7 million, trailing only Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, which both had per partner profits topping $5 million.
