Week Ahead at SCOTUS: The Slow Blockbuster Term

It’s been slow at the U.S. Supreme Court over the last few terms.

It’s true that the court has been deciding fewer and fewer cases since the 1980s, before which itregularlydecided 150 cases. But in the last two terms, the court has issued 62 and 63 opinions in argued cases.

The court is on a similarly slow pace this term, too. But with so many of those cases involving consequential issues, it certainly doesn’t feel like a slow term, one court watcher recentlytoldBloomberg Law (subscription required).
